Verona, Italy
26 January 2012
The beautiful city of Juliet.
This was my first Italian city! The main reason I went to Italy was to meet my good college friend JM who was doing his masters in Bologna and the nearest Paris-Bologna overnight train was via Verona.
And I was absolutely mesmerized by its idyllic views and beautiful architecture
When I think of Verona, Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer is what usually comes to mind (blame it on Baz Luhrmann). But Letters to Juliet changed my perception entirely and the romantic in me dreamed of the day when I could visit Juliet herself. So you could imagine how giddy I felt when the train was pulling up to the train station.
And as coincidence would have it, Taylor Swift chose that precise moment to sing Love Story on my itouch. Haha.
It was the perfect place to retire and take up writing or painting. I could imagine myself whiling away the afternoons writing sonnets by the Castel San Pietro. Haay. :)
