I love this place. The sights, the smells, the vibrant colors, and the language of the streets! It's like being transported to another country.

And contrary to what people might think, I feel pretty safe walking along the bustling streets with my camera. Perhaps the people have been so used to tourists taking photos of every lamppost and Chinese Sign. One time, two street children posed to have their pictures taken and scrambled over to my side to see the photo. One of them tried to touch my LCD screen, but the other gently swatted away his hand. These children may have dirty feet and worn out clothes, but they smile as if they are on streets made of gold. :)

Southern Lights

Half of these photos are memories from a beautiful and unforgettable night. 

The other half were taken in an effort to dilute those same memories.

Olango

Location: Olango island, Cebu

Olango is a 10-15 minute banca ride from Mactan Island and it's a paradise of beautiful seascapes and underwater treasures. Birds migrate here during a certain time of the year and it has long been in my list of places to visit (this year, promise!)

Its amazing to be working so close to places like this. :)

Taboan Market

Let's pause from the Europe Pics to something closer to home. :) 


This was a photo walk me and a high school friend did around November last year and it was a day of firsts.  While me and my friend knew each other since high school,we never really talked until the day we met up for this shoot! And I have been living in Cebu for the past three years but this was the first time I explored this side of town. Hehe.


About the choice of location: As all aspiring Cebuano photographers know, Taboan and the downtown area is a must place for a photowalk. Taboan Market is THE place that will cater to all your dried seafood needs and it offers a lot of nice subjects- both food and people. As for me and my friend, this was our first stop. 


I particularly liked the smell of the market- you could almost taste the saltiness of the bulad on your tongue.
